Evolving from an almost-forgotten historic “Turtle Crawl”, to a harbourside conch and beer shack, to finally, the colourful, wonderful restaurant which now stands today, Calypso Grill opened its doors in October 1999, a creation of owners Teresa Grimes, James Mason, and Chef George Fowler.
The waterside site in Morgan’s Harbour, West Bay, is the setting for leisurely lunches and delightful dinners. Colour schemes are bold blue and burnt orange, with flashes of red and yellow throughout. Blue French doors open out onto the deck and the sea. By day the sun fills the room, water sparkles, and the play of colours equals the splendour of the outdoors. By night Calypso enjoys one of the most comfortable and cosy feelings on the island.
